These seeds were collected from Mentha pulegium, also known as English Pennyroyal. This perennial herb likes to live in full sun where it grows to about a foot high and sports fragrant lavender blossoms from late summer until the middle of the fall and attracts a wide variety of birds, bees, and butterflies. The leaves can be eaten cooked as a vegetable or raw in salads. The minty leaves are used to flavor food and the dried leaves should be picked as the flower first appears and then used to make pennyroyal tea and pot-pourri. The plant is used to make soap and essential oils. This is a larval host plant for the Hermit sphinx, California Pyrausta, and the Small Magpie moths. USDA Hardiness Zones 6 to 9.
