It is most popularly used in soils with low nitrogen due to clovers ability to fix nitrogen from the air onto nodules attached to its roots. Red Mammoth Clover tolerates some shade so it can be sown between tall vegetable or flower rows or under fruit tree. Red Mammoth Clover can re-grow after light grazing or mowing once flowering has begun to avoid reseeding. The flowers are edible and may be used to garnish drinks, salads, and soups for very mild honey-like flavor.
