2000+ STINGING NETTLE SEEDS HEIRLOOM SPRING PERENNIAL HERB MEDICINAL POLLINATORS

We are proud to welcome you to The Green Grove Garden. We were active plant propagators and Nursery owners for a number of years specializing in the production of plant plugs and seedlings for our on farm use. We have learned a great deal about seedling production, proper storage, handling and identification of quality seeds to be able to offer you the finest and freshest seeds available. Here is another of our prized offerings: 2000+ STINGING NETTLE SEEDS HEIRLOOM SPRING PERENNIAL HERB MEDICINAL POLLINATORS * The Non-GMO Stinging Nettle is probably my favorite farm plant because it can be used in countless ways. * It is a cornerstone plant in Organic farming, Permaculture and Biodynamic farming. * The Stinging Nettle has a root system that is like a nutrient sponge. It can extract elements from the soil that our domesticated vegetable plants cannot easily do. * Stinging Nettle is referred to as a hyperaccumulator plant. In addition, the leaves and stems can be composted to create an almost perfect fertilizer that is well balanced! * It is wonderful for making a balanced, organic liquid fertilizer. Just steep the stems and leaves in a bucket of water for a day or so, and use on your plants that are ailing, and it should quickly revive them. * Many Permaculturists consider Stinging Nettle to be the most important plant on their farms. * The stinging part of Nettles can be neutralized with exposure to high heat for 30 seconds. Always, exercise caution when handling or preparing Stinging Nettle. Make sure it is properly heated before consuming and wear gloves when handling to avoid stinging. * After the plant has been heated properly, it can be added to stews, soups etc...and many love the taste! * It enjoys moist soil and will thrive in lower, more water retentive parts of your lawn, and along forest edges where the soil is rich and moist. * Stinging Nettle is very good for making nutrient rich teas. * It is very rich in antioxidants and Vitamins. * Many beneficial insects, and, in particular, the Green Lacewing will use the Stinging Nettle plant to lay its larvae on. Ladybugs prefer Stinging Nettle foliage as well. * Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic beverages are made from the Stinging Nettle plant parts. * It is also used for many medical purposes but consult your Physician before ingesting Stinging Nettle. Culture Notes:Prepare the containers: Fill small pots or seed trays with a well-draining seed starting mix like a brand such as Espoma or Jiffy.Sow the seeds: Sprinkle the seeds over the surface of the soil and then gently press them into the soil. Do not cover the seeds with soil as they need light to germinate.Water the seeds: Use a spray bottle to gently mist the soil to keep it moist, but not soaking wet.Provide heat and light: Place the pots in a warm, sunny location or under grow lights. Stinging nettles germinate best at temperatures between 70-75°F (21-24°C).Keep the soil moist: Regularly mist the soil to keep it moist, but not soaking wet.Monitor for germination: Stinging nettle seeds should germinate in about 1-2 weeks. Once the seedlings have emerged, you can begin to water them more thoroughly.Transplant the seedlings: Once the seedlings have a couple of sets of leaves, transplant them into individual pots or into a larger container.Gradually acclimate the seedlings to the outdoors: After all danger of frost has passed, you can begin to harden off the seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions. After a week or two, they should be ready to be planted in your garden.Remember, it is important to keep the soil moist, but not soaking wet, and to provide adequate light and warmth for the seeds to germinate and grow. 1000+ Thyme Seeds (Thymus vulgaris) – Heirloom | Non-GMO , Herb Seeds

Welcome you to Smartbuyforever! We are a leading Seeds provider for many years! We provide fresh and high-quality Heirlooms seeds, NON-GMO and organic seeds to home gardeners and other’s Growers! Our main offerings: Hundreds of heirloom, rare, beautiful flowers and Herbs and Vegetables seeds. Especially we provide hard to find Herb and flowers seeds! COMMON THYME SEEDS (Thymus vulgaris)-Thyme is evergreen in zones 4 through 12 but will darken during winter. In zones lower than 4, it will grow as an annual. A small and dainty herb, Thyme is one of the most cherished of all herb seed varieties. An excellent aromatic and culinary herb, Thyme also possesses select medicinal qualities. Plant thyme seeds in a sunny spot with proper irrigation. Planting instructions: Sowing: Start thyme herb seeds indoors 5-6 weeks before the last frost, sowing them 1/4" deep in a flat. Keep them out of direct sunlight, but make sure the soil temperature is at least 70 degrees F. Germination may take up to 28 days. Well after the last frost, transplant the seedlings 9-12" apart in sandy soil and full sun. Direct sowing is possible but not recommended, since the seeds take much longer to germinate in the cool soil of spring; this significantly shortens the growing season and delays the harvest of fresh leaves. Thyme also grows well as a container plant, and can be propogated from cuttings or root division. As a companion plant, thyme attracts bees and discourages harmful insects such as the cabbage butterfly. Growing: Make sure the seedlings have adequate moisture, but as soon as they are established do not water them. Thyme thrives on neglect, preferring dry soil with no fertilization. If the soil becomes too wet, the plant may suffer from root rot or other fungal diseases. Control weeds to prevent them from competing with the slow developing thyme. Mulch may help to keep the leaves clean and discourage weeds. After the second spring of the plants' growth, prune the plants down to half their height to encourage tender stems and neat growth. Harvesting: Harvest fresh leaves as soon as they reach a desirable size, cutting them down to 1-2" above ground level. The best time to harvest is in the morning after the dew has dried. The leaves reach their peak in flavor right before the flowers open; after this point the flavor decreases. To dry entire sprigs, bundle them and hang them upside down in a warm place out of direct sunlight. After they have dried, rub them lightly to separate the leaves from the stems. Store the leaves in an airtight container. Seed Saving: Harvest individual thyme herb seed heads as they mature and begin to dry. Spread them out to dry out of direct sunlight, then thresh them to remove the seed. Store the Thymus vulgaris seed in a cool, dry place.
